Steps

  1. Don't always do stomach exercises. Instead increase your metabolism level. That way you'll burn fat even when you're asleep!
  2. Find a sturdy object to use or do your sit ups on. A medium-sized yoga ball or the arm of a sofa will work.
  3. The best way to do sit ups is with your hands crossed against your chest. Putting your hands in front of you puts less strain on your neck and makes it easier for you(resulting in less of an ab workout) Never do sit ups with your hands in the popular behind-the-neck position. All it does is give you neck strain and total pain.
  4. When doing the actual sit up, you must feel a curve in the lower and upper abdominals (stomach), and do a set of maybe 50 or so 5 times. If this sit up routine is brand-new to you, take it slowly with only a total of 50 or less a day.
  5. Breathe! It may sound stupid, but if you are a hardcore sitter-upper, you tend to forget!
For the slim but shapeless!

  1. There is an exercise called "stomach vacuum" which strengthens the inner abdominals, type it in.It will reduce the waist by two inches in around four weeks.
  2. To pull in the sides, try doing the air-bike, you know, elbow to knee crunches.
  3. Build up the hips to get an hourglass figure using the abductor on extremely heavy weight.Good luck!
  4. Doing cardio helps. Join a gym.

Tips:

  • Clench your stomach when you're coming up. It should feel as if you are coughing-put your hand on your stomach and cough.-It should feel like that when you sit up.
  • Keep your protein intake levels high, and be sure to get all the proper vitamins and minerals.
  • Healthy eating and exercise is key here. Don't believe the myth of "lifting weights will make you too muscly and bulky" It is impossible to get too "bulky" unless you are trying to.
  • You may have a mild allergy to certain foods. For example, some people are mildy allergic to certain grains and dairy and it makes them bloat. If you pay attention to your reactions to certain foods, this may help.
  • You may be retaining water in your tummy. Reduce salt intake.
  • Several times a day, try sitting up straight, sucking in your stomach as much as possible, and tightening your muscles for 10-15 seconds. This will help them to stay firm around the clock.
  • Remember: You'll never have the 'Barbie waist' (it's physically impossible), but you will have a defining sexy waist that will boost your confidence and make you feel healthier.

Warnings

  • Suck your stomach in or else nothing will happen, and it'll be bad on your back
  • If you don't get some cardio in, your newly-chiseled abs will still be hidden under a layer of fatty flesh.
